No. 3 Moment: Harris Leaps Into The NCAA Championships East Preliminary Round

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Participating in the NCAA Championships is the pinnacle for most collegiate athletes career. Men's track and field jumper Isaiah Harris reached the pinnacle in 2012-13 when he competed in the NCAA Championships East Preliminary Round in the outdoor season to hop into the No. 3 Moment in our Top-15 Moments Countdown.

The junior then closed out his 2013 NCAA Championships East Preliminary Round with a 26th-place standing in the high jump after clearing the height of 2.10m. The junior passed on the 2.00m height and then cleared the height of 2.05m on his second attempt before clearing the height of 2.10m on his third and final attempt. The height of 2.10m was good for 18th place, but Harris placed 26th in the event since it took him three attempts to clear the height while the eight other participants made the standard in less attempts.

The participation in the NCAA Championships East Preliminary Round concluded a successful junior campaign for Harris. The junior won the long jump (7.31m) on May 4 at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships and then finished the jumps trifecta on May 5 with first-place standings in the high jump (2.09m) and the triple jump (15.33), including a new conference mark in the triple jump to earn the Most Outstanding Performer In Field Events at the conference championships.

Led by Harris, the men's track and field team finished third in both in the indoor and outdoor Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships
