Box Score RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup against Manhattan on Wednesday.
Lauren Behrens paced the Peacocks with 13 kills and 15 digs. Kristina Baehr finished with a team-high 27 assists while Meredith Przybocki accounted for three total blocks to go along with five kills in the loss.
Claire Van Dyk finished with a game-high 17 kills, while Malia McGuinness recorded 10 kills and 17 digs in the winning effort.
Manhattan (14-8, 7-3 MAAC) defeated Saint Peter's (5-15, 2-9 MAAC) in three sets to sweep the season-series.
Down 15-14 in the first set, the Jaspers scored five unanswered points to take a 19-15 advantage. Manhattan did not look back, taking the first game 25-18.
Saint Peter's opened up an 8-6 lead in the second set, but Manhattan used four consecutive scores to take the lead. The set remained close, but the Jaspers managed to outlast the Peacocks 25-22 to take a 2-0 set lead.
Trailing 14-9 in the third game, the Peacocks stormed back with five straight points to knot the set at 14. Manhattan countered with a 6-1 run en route to a 25-16 set victory.
The Peacocks return to action on Oct. 25, when the team travels to Connecticut for a weekend slate against Quinnipiac and Fairfield (Oct. 26). Opening serve on Saturday is set for 6 p.m.
