MADISON, N.J. – The Saint Peter's women's tennis team completed its final day at the NJAIAI Tournament hosted by Drew University.
On the opening day of competition, Adina Ungurean-Halagian defeated Sydni Fahringer in singles action, 8-1. Claudia Hellman downed Summer Bernales, 8-2. Christian Resurreccion won an 8-1 decision over Scout Bauer in her singles matchup.
Halagian defeated her opponent Katie Marshall in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 6-0. She was defeated in her semifinals matchup against Brittany LaBruna. Hellman advanced to the quarterfinals; defeating Brynn Buechler 8-6. She made it all the way to the final round of the bracket. Resurreccion blanketed Sarah Silvestri in their quarterfinals match, 6-0, 6-0. She advanced to the final round, defeating her teammate Hellman.
The team returns to action on Oct. 12, when the team resumes MAAC play with an hOURglass rivalry contest against Rider. Match time is set for 12 p.m.
