NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Saint Peter's women's bowling team finished 21st in the traditional round of the FDU New Jersey Jamboree on Saturday.
In the first two days of the competition, the Peacocks had 8,846 pins fall to rank 21st in the field and finished with a 3-8 record. The Peacocks recorded wins against Pitt-Johnstown (746-686), Franklin Pierce (909-837) and Felician (804-799).
Samantha Buzelle (Milford, Conn./Trumbull) paced the Peacocks with a total of 1,939 pins fall. She recorded a tournament high 222 against Franklin Pierce on Saturday and also had a 208 against Valparaiso and a 201 against Bethune Cookman.
Amanda Santos (West New York, N.J./Memorial) had 1,839 pins knocked down in the two days. The freshman had a tournament-high 233 score against Vanderbilt.
Sara Witzling (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) had a score 1,727 for pins fall, including a 188 in the victory against Franklin Pierce while Lidia DeSapio (Frenchtown, N.J./Immaculata) registered 1,680 pins knocked down and a tournament-best 173 against Wisconsin Whitewater and Franklin Pierce.
Jacquelyne Broadfoot (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) appeared in eight of the 11 games in the two days and posted 1,288 pins knocked down. The freshman had a tournament-high 202 score against Cheney.
Saint Peter's competes in the final day of the FDU New Jersey Jamboree on Sunday. The tournament switches to a baker format and the Peacocks will face off against Virginia State in the opening round of the bracketed tournament. Virginia State rallied to defeat Saint Peter's 820-763 in the final match on Friday during the traditional round.
