MAAC To Announce Men's And Women's Basketball Preseason Polls On ESPN3 On Wednesday Night

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) will announced the men's and women's basketball preseason coaches polls on ESPN3 on Wednesday at 7 p.m. In addition, the All-MAAC Preseason teams and Preseason Men's And Women's Players of the Year will also be announced.

The show will start with a recap from the MAAC Women's Basketball Coaches Forum taped in September before the announcement of the All-MAAC Preseason third team followed by the All-MAAC Preseason second team announcements. After a recap of the MAAC Men's Basketball Coaches Forum from September, the All-MAAC Preseason first team and Preseason Players of the Year will be revealed. The preseason poll for both the men's and women's basketball will be revealed and the basketball television schedule will also be discussed before the end of the show.

The Saint Peter's men's basketball team finished 14-17 overall and 9-11 in league play last year. The Peacocks won seven of its last 10 games and advanced to the MAAC Quarterfinals in 2013-14. The team returns four of its five starters from that team and four players that saw significant minutes off the bench last season.

The Peacocks women's basketball team finished 3-27 overall last season and 2-18 in MAAC play in the first season under head coach Pat Coyle. The squad returns six players that started at least eight games last year.

The men's basketball team opens the season at Brown on Nov. 14 at 8 p.m.  and will make its 2014-15 Yanitelli Center debut on Nov. 20 against Niagara. The women's basketball team opens the season at Stony Brook on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. and will make its home debut against Lehigh on Nov. 25.
