Spring Schedule
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's University men's golf head coach Pete Fallon has announced his 2014 spring schedule. The Peacocks will compete in five events, including hosting the annual Peacock Invitational on Apr. 22.
"The players realize that we will be a serious contender for the MAAC Championship at Disney," said Falloon. "As a result the team has been working hard all winter in our indoor facility. Cardio, strength and conditioning and 'net' drill work have all been part of our preparation."
The squad begins competition in the spring on Mar. 30-Apr. 1 at the three-day Whiting Turner Towson Invitational at the Prospect Bay Country Club in Grayson, Md. The squad will be looking to improve on its 18th-place standing from last season.
Saint Peter's will then travel to the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational at the Crystal Springs Country Club in Hamburg, N.J., on Apr. 13-14. It will be the first time the Peacocks will participate in the two-day event.
The squad heads to the Monmouth Quad Match at the Deal Country Club in Deal, N.J., on Apr. 17. The event was scheduled in the fall, but was postponed due to the weather.
Saint Peter's makes its final tune up for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships with its annual Peacock Invitational on Apr. 22. The one-day, one-round event will be held at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, N.J. The team finished eighth at the competition last year.
The Peacocks conclude the regular season and looks for their first MAAC Championship at the MAAC Men's Golf Championships on Apr. 25-27 on the Disney Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Saint Peter's finished sixth at the event last year.
The squad competed in six events in the fall, notching its best finish with a second-place standing at the CCSU Fall Blue Devil Invitational on Sept. 9.
