Softball Drops Two Games On Friday At The Rebel Games

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Peter's softball team was defeated by Bucknell (6-0) and Albany (2-0) in non-conference action at the Rebel Games.

Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado), Nicole Olmedo (Chino, Calif./Chino) and Chelsea Crews (Seattle, Wash./Mountlake Terrace) each recorded a hit in the morning tilt against the Bisons.

Bucknell got on the board in the first inning, following a base-loaded walk to take a 1-0 lead. Mariah Midyette smacked in a RBI-single down the right side to advance Cyndee Sanders home to take a 2-0 advantage.    

The Bisons scored again in the third inning, following another RBI-hit from Midyette to advance two runners home to give Bucknell a 4-0 lead. Midyette later scored on a wild pitch, expanding the Bucknell advantage. The Bisons scored their final run in the seventh inning, following a RBI-single by Sanders.

In the afternoon game against Albany, Saint Peter's had an opportunity to score in the first inning. With two outs and runners on base, Crystal Carlucci (Iselin, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial) hit the ball into deep right field, but was robbed of a homerun, ending the inning.

The Great Danes got on the board in the first inning. With a runner on second, Albany advanced the runner with a sacrifice bunt. The next batter grounded-out, allowing the runner to advance home to give Albany a 1-0 lead.  

Albany scored its second run in the fifth inning, following a RBI-single to right field to send the runner from second base to home to secure a 2-0 victory.

With the losses, Saint Peter's drops to 2-12 overall this season.

The Peacocks finish up at the Rebel Games on Saturday, with games against Howard and Army. Game times are set for 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
