JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action on Tuesday.
In singles competition, the Red Foxes swept Saint Peter's, defeating the Peacocks in all six matches.
Saint Peter's faired well in doubles action, winning two of the three matches to earn its lone point in the contest. The tandem of Carlos Carrera (Quito, Ecuador/APCH) and Tom Jottrand (Waterloo, Belgium/CCM) topped their opponent, 8-7 (7-1). Fabian Valdiviezo (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio-Aleman) and Oliver Bellomi (Nanaimo, Canada/Laurel Spring) won their doubles match, 8-6.
With the loss, the Peacocks fall to 5-4 overall while Marist improves to 7-3 overall this season.
Saint Peter's returns to action Mar. 22, when the team plays host to conference foe Siena.
