FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's women's tennis team lost 9-0 to Queens (N.Y.) in non-conference action on Sunday.
In singles action, Adina Ungurean-Halagian (Bucharest, Romania/Schiller International School) lost her match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. Ivana Grbelja (Kelowna, Canada/Immaculata Regional) was defeated by Aylin Mehter, 6-0, 6-1. Lucia Radovic (Zadar, Crotia/Skola Primientiene Umietnosti Dizajna) dropped her match against Andrea Samson, 6-1, 6-2. Elena Melian Puigventos (Gran Canaria, Spain/Canlebury School of las Palmas) and Vanessa Vogel (Phoenix, Ariz./Boulder Creek) each were defeated in their individual matches.
Saint Peter's was swept in doubles play, dropping all three of its matches against the Knights.
With the loss, Saint Peter's falls to 2-4 while Queens (N.Y.) improves to 12-2 this season.
The squad returns to action Mar. 6, when they welcome LIU Brooklyn to the Yanitelli Bubble for non-conference action.
