CHARLOTTE, N.C – Members of the Saint Peter's track and field team competed in the Charlotte 49ers Classic over the weekend.
Wellington Brown (Union, N.J ./Union High School) placed fourth in the Long Jump with a leap of 7.08-meters. He also finished 12th in the High Jump with a 1.90-meter effort.
Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.J./Baldwin) notched a top-10 finish in the Discus Throw with a toss of 48.14-meters. Sunita Kumar (Munich, Germany/Gymnasium Kirchheim) placed 13th in the Javelin Throw with a 34.43-meter effort.
Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, N.Y./Farmingdale High School) notched a seventh-place finish in the Triple Jump with a height of 11.37-meters. Cajou also had a 14th-place performance in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.40-meters.
In the High Jump, Hasaana Smith (Newark, N.J,/Malcolm X. Shabazz) notched a top-15 finish with her leap of 1.60-meters. Cajou placed 22nd in the event with a jump of 1.55-meters.
Shona Potruzki (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.86. Jamel Presley (Rochester, N.Y./Rahway High School) notched a sixth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.15-seconds.
The team returns to action on Mar. 29 when the team competes in the FDU Knights Classic.
