Women's Tennis Falls To Manhattan, 7-0

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's women's tennis team lost 7-0 to conference foe Manhattan on Sunday.

Saint Peter's was swept in all six of its singles matches. Adina Ungurean-Halagian (Bucharest, Romania/Schiller International School) suffered a three-set loss to Briana Turano. Ivana Grbelja (Kelowna, Canada/Immaculata Regional) lost her match in straight sets, 1-6, 2-6. Elena Melian Puigventos (Gran Canaria, Spain/Canlebury School of las Palmas) was defeated by Caitlin Bricketto, 3-6, 5-7. Lucia Radovic (Zadar, Crotia/Skola Primientiene Umietnosti Dizajna) dropped her contest in three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 0-6. Vanessa Vogel (Phoenix, Ariz./Boulder Creek) also suffered a three-set defeat.

The Peacocks' lone victory came in doubles competition. The tandem of Halagian and Grbelja won their doubles contest, 8-6.

With the loss, Saint Peter's falls to 3-7 overall this season and 2-2 against MAAC opponents.

The squad returns to action Mar. 30, when the team travels north to take on Niagara. Match time is set for 9:00 a.m.
