FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Saint Peter's women's tennis team concluded its regular season on Friday with a 6-1 loss to Fairfield.
The Peacocks struggled in singles matches, as the Stags took five of six contests. Lucia Radovic (Zadar, Crotia/Skola Primientiene Umietnosti Dizajna) recorded the lone point for Saint Peter's, as she defeated Kaila Nelson, 6-4, 6-3.
Monica Yajima downed Adina Ungurean-Halagian (Bucharest, Romania/Schiller International School) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Ivana Grbelja (Kelowna, Canada/Immaculata Regional) suffered a 0-6, 0-6 loss to Sharissa Ryan. Carolina Koladzyn topped Elena Melian Puigventos (Gran Canaria, Spain/Canlebury School of las Palmas), 6-4, 6-0. Vanessa Vogel (Phoenix, Ariz./Boulder Creek) was defeated in straight sets to Victoria Pirrello.
Saint Peter's was unable to get it going in doubles competition, as the team dropped all three contests.
The Peacocks conclude its season at 4-14 overall and 2-6 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
