Men's Tennis Falls To Quinnipiac, 6-1

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Saint Peter's men's tennis team fell to Quinnipiac, 7-0, in a conference clash on Saturday.

The Peacocks struggled against the Bobcats, dropping five of six singles matches.

Tom Jottrand (Waterloo, Belgium/CCM) was the lone winner for the Peacocks, defeating his opponent Luke Roser, 6-3, 6-0. Eric Ambrosio downed Marko Knezevic (Zadar, Croatia/V. Nazor), 6-3, 6-2. Ryoma Haraguchi topped Fabian Valdiviezo (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio-Aleman), 6-3, 6-3. Mario Huljev (Zadar, Croatia/Zadar Private) was defeated by Carlos Fernandez, 0-6, 2-6. Oliver Bellomi (Nanaimo, Canada/Laurel Spring) suffered a three-set defeat by Ben Teicher.

Saint Peter's was unable to defeat Quinnipiac in any of its three doubles matches.

With the loss, the Peacocks fall to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in MAAC play while Quinnipiac improves to 6-7 and earns its third conference victory.

The squad returns to action tomorrow for an afternoon battle against Saint Francis Brooklyn.
