HAMDEN, Conn. – The Saint Peter's women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Quinnipiac on Saturday.
Saint Peter's failed to win a singles match, dropping all six of its matches to the Bobcats. Sophia Dzulynsky topped Adina Ungurean-Halagian (Bucharest, Romania/Schiller International School), 6-3, 6-2. Jacqueline Raynor downed Ivana Grbelja (Kelowna, Canada/Immaculata Regional), 6-2, 6-0. Elena Melian Puigventos (Gran Canaria, Spain/Canlebury School of las Palmas) suffered a 0-6, 0-6 loss to Sydney Young. Lucia Radovic (Zadar, Crotia/Skola Primientiene Umietnosti Dizajna) and Vanessa Vogel (Phoenix, Ariz./Boulder Creek) both lost in their singles matches.
The Peacocks were not able to win in doubles competition, losing all three matches.
With the loss, Saint Peter's falls to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in MAAC play while Quinnipiac improves to 5-10 overall and remains unbeaten in conference action.
Saint Peter's returns to action tomorrow for an afternoon tilt against Saint Francis Brooklyn.
