JERSEY CITY, N.J. – After winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Golf Championship on Apr. 27, the NCAA will reveal which of the six regionals site the Saint Peter's men's golf team will be placed during the Morning Drive on the Golf Channel on Monday at 10 a.m.
The Saint Peter's University community and members of the men's golf team will gather in the Living Room of the Mac Mahon Student Center on campus to watch the selection show. The Living Room is located on the first floor of the student center near Jazzman's.
If you are unable to attend the Saint Peter's NCAA Selection Show viewing or do not have the Golf Channel, the Morning Drive will be streamed live on the Golf Channel's website via Golf Live Extra at golfchannel.com and posted afterwards on ncaa.com.
The Peacocks six possible destinations for the NCAA Regional are The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo. (hosted by the University of Missouri), Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C. (hosted by N.C. State), Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. (hosted by Northern Illinois), Auburn University Club in Auburn, Ala. (hosted by Auburn University), Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Tex. (hosted by UTSA) and Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. (hosted by the University of Oregon).
The NCAA Men's Golf Regionals take place from May 15-17 at the six predetermined sites. Each regional will include 16 teams and a select number of individuals. The Top-5 teams from each regional and six individuals will move onto the NCAA Men's Golf Championship at the Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas (hosted by Wichita State) on May 26-28.
The Saint Peter's men's golf team won the MAAC Men's Golf Championships by three strokes over Monmouth and Fairfield. The Peacocks trailed Manhattan by five strokes after the first day, but then took the lead in the second round and maintained the lead until the end of the tournament to earn their first MAAC Championship.
Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) paced Saint Peter's with a fifth-place standing after posting the third-best three-round score in program history with a total of 230. Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) and Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) finished tied for eighth with a score 232 while Dominic Diaz (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) (15th place, 237) and Steven Competiello (Staten Island, N.Y./Saint Peter Boys) (31st place, 247) also competed for the Peacocks.
