Wagner Defeats Men's Tennis 6-1

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision against non-conference opponent Wagner on Sunday.

Wagner (5-0) took a 1-0 lead in the contest, winning of all three doubles contests against Saint Peter's (0-2). The tandem of Ryan Khan and Allen Wang outlasted Carlos Carrera and Daniil Ivanov, 7-6 (5). The duo of Michal Rolski and Shawn Lee blanketed Jorge Rodriguez and Sebastian Rojas, 6-0. Sam Flaxman and Charlton Boyd won their doubles contest, 6-0. 

The Peacocks tied match at 1 in singles play, after Carrera defeated Khan, 6-2, 6-4. Wagner won the next five singles contests to win the contest, 6-1. Rolski won his match against Ivanov, 6-1, 7-6 (5). Boyd defeated Rodriguez in his matchup, 6-1, 6-3. Wang blanketed Oliver Bellomi, 6-0, 6-0. Rick Delboi and Lee each won their singles contest on the afternoon.

Saint Peter's returns to the court on Oct. 5, when the team travels to Philadelphia for a non-conference tilt against La Salle. Opening serve is set for 1 p.m.
