After Saint Peter's tied the game in the 43rd minute, Gunton-Jones converted a penalty-kick opportunity at the 49:16 mark to give the Blackbirds the lead they would not relinquish.

Peters then took a pass from Spicer at the 57:03 mark to increase the margin to 3-1 and then Peters notched her second goal of the afternoon at 88:38 to seal the 4-1 victory.

The game remained in favor of LIU Brooklyn for the next 18 minutes before Rosania rocketed a shot from 25-yards out on the right into the high netting for her first collegiate score and to knot the match at 1.

The Blackbirds then scored all three goals in the second half to earn the victory.

Saint Peter's had some hard luck go its way in the first half that could have resulted in two more scores. Carlee Gonzalez (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) tried to knock the ball over the head of the LIU Brooklyn netminder with her at the top of the box, but Gonzalez's shot hit the crossbar in the 29th minute. Ashley Drozd (Baiting Hallows, N.Y./Riverhead) also had a scoring chance with Montrose out of position, but Gunton-Jones came up big with a team save in the 37th minute.

The Peacocks return to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at the Great Lawn at Monmouth. Match time is 7 p.m. The defending league champions are coming off a 3-2 loss to Canisius on Saturday. Saint Peter's opened league play with a 3-1 win against the Golden Griffins on Sept. 18.
