Edmunds Leads Saint Peter's Men's Golf After First Round Of ECAC Championships

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. – Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) ranks fifth after the first round to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to a fourth-place standing after day one of the ECAC Championships on Monday. 

Edmunds, who was the medalist two years ago when the Peacocks' won the event in their last appearance at the ECAC Championships, carded a 73 in the first round on Monday to finish fifth and four strokes behind the current leader.

Dominic Diaz (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater Raritan) also ranks in the Top-10 after finishing one stroke behind Edmunds in eighth place. Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (16th place, 76), Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) (18th place, 77) and Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (20th place, 78) rounded out the Saint Peter's five competitors.

Fairfield leads the two-day competition with a score of 288, four strokes ahead of Rhode Island (292) while Iona (298), the Peacocks (300) and Rider (312) round out the Top-5 teams in the field.

Saint Peter's participates in the final round of the ECAC Championships on Tuesday.
