MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. – Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) finished fifth to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to a fourth-place standing at the ECAC Championships on Tuesday.
Edmunds posted a pair of one-over par round scores of 73 to finish in fifth place with a score of 146, seven strokes behind the medalist. Two years ago, Edmunds won the ECAC Championships after carding rounds of 70 and 72 for a two-round score of 142 and the Peacocks won the event when it was held at the Twisted Dunes Golf Course in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.
Dominic Diaz (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater Raritan) also finished in the Top-10 after finishing one stroke behind Edmunds in seventh place with a two-round total of 147. Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (12th place, 150), Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) (19th place, 157) and Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (19th place, 157) rounded out the Saint Peter's five competitors.
Rhode Island rallied for the win with a two-round score of 577, five strokes ahead of Fairfield (582) while Iona (596), Saint Peter's (599) and Rider (622) rounded out the Top-5 teams in field. The squad shot a 300 in the first round and a 299 in the final round for its two-day total of 599.
Saint Peter's returns to action at the Connecticut Cup on Oct. 13.
