JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Marcel Maddee' (Berlin, Germany/Gymnasium Villa Elizabeth), a member of the Saint Peter's men's soccer team, has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 1-7. It is the senior's second conference honor in his career.
Maddee' scored twice to help the Saint Peter's men's soccer team to a 2-1 win against Hartwick on Sunday. The senior converted a Hawks' giveway into a breakaway tally at the 3:32 mark to give the Peacocks an early 1-0 lead. He then took a feed from Santiago Mateus (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) and found the back of the net at the 68:44 mark for what proved ro be the eventual game-winning goal. It was the senior's second multi-goal performance of his career after posting two goals in a 2-all standstill against Niagara last season on Oct. 5, 2013.
Maddee' leads the team with two goals for four points this season after pacing the squad with four tallies and seven assists for 15 points as a junior.
For his career, the senior has eight goals and 10 assists for 26 points.
Maddee' was also named the MAAC Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6, 2013 after his two-goal performance against the Purple Eagles.
Saint Peter's (1-2-0) returns to action at Villanova on Thursday. Match time is 4 p.m.
