Saint Peter's Indoor Track & Field Announces 2015-16 Slate

2015-16 Indoor Track & Field Schedule

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Saint Peter's University track & field head coach Mike Massone has announced his 2015-16 indoor track & field schedule. The slate is highlighted by eight events at the brand new Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.

"We are all looking forward to an exciting indoor season in 2015-16," said Massone, the six-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Coach of the Year. "The majority of indoor meets will now be contested at the Ocean Breeze Track Facility in Staten Island. This new facility has several meets featuring outstanding competition, and I believe our student athletes will rise to these occasions."

The first five events will be at Ocean Breeze, starting with the Metro Holiday Season Opener on Dec. 5. The following week, the Peacocks return to the venue for the Wagner Shootout on Dec. 11 to represent the final invitational in 2015.

Saint Peter's starts the New Year at the Villanova Open on Jan. 8 while the squad will also participate in the Great Dane University of Albany Invitational on Jan. 16 and the NYC Gotham Cup on Jan. 22 at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex.

The Jersey City team will leave the area for the first time at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at the Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Mass., on Jan. 30.

"We will head to Boston University twice and, of course, the MAAC Championship will be held at the New York Armory," said Massone. "I do believe our men's indoor track & field squad has the chance to be the best men's team we have ever had while our women's indoor track & field team looks much improved from last season, and could be a very pleasant surprise."

After returning to the Staten Island complex for the Metropolitan Championships on Feb. 5 and the Fastrack National Invitational on Feb. 13, Saint Peter's will participate in the MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y., on Feb. 21.

The Peacocks will head to Staten Island one last time for the Fastrack Last Chance Meet on Feb. 27.

Any Saint Peter's runners that meet the qualifying standards for ECAC or IC4A will head back to the Track & Tennis Center for the ECAC/IC4A Championships on Mar. 5-6.
