JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Karen Castaneda (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge), Bence Greifenstein (Budapest, Hungary/Kerek) and Nicholas Riepe (Middlesex, N.J./Saint Joseph) each won two events to pace the Saint Peter's swimming and diving team in a tri-meet with Manhattan and Fairfield on Saturday.
Castaneda won the 1000 free with a time of 10:54.65 and the 200 free with a time of 1:58.61 while the sophomore also placed second in the 100 back with a time of 1:06.57.
Greifenstein took first in the 100 fly with a time of 53:45 and the 100 breast with a time of 58.64 while Riepe did his damage in the long races after winning the 1000 free with a time of 9:52.58 and the 500 free with a time of 4:47.89 and also placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 54.10.
Along with Castaneda, Christina Petrelis (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) won the 100 breast (1:19.35) and posted second-place standings in the 200 IM (2:18.04) and the 500 free (5:32.80).
Thomas Calloni (Jersey City, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) won the 200 free (1:47.16) and placed second on the 100 free (49.67) and the 500 free (4:54.10) while Sean Dunne (Holmdel, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) finished second in the 50 free (56.48) and the 100 breast (1:02.48).
The Peacocks hosted its lone home meet of the year on the afternoon.
Saint Peter's returns to action on Nov. 7 at NJIT and will be joined by VMI.
