BALTIMORE, Md. – The Saint Peter's men's and women's swimming team competed in the opening day of the H2ounds Invitational on Friday evening. Both the men and women lost dual meets to Loyola, Iona and Marist.
Karen Castaneda (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) paced the women's side with a sixth-place standing in the 500 free (5:11.39).
On the men's side, Nicholas Riepe (Middlesex, N.J./Saint Joseph) finished fifth in the 500 free (4:41.86) while Sean Dunne (Holmdel, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) placed fifth in the 200 IM (1:58.49) and Bence Greifenstein (Budapest, Hungary/Kerek) was right behind Dunne in sixth place (1:59.00). Igal Oren (Jersey City, N.J./Ort Kiryar Bialik) finished eighth in the 50 free (22.05).
Both the Peacocks men's and women's swimming team returns to action in the final day of the H2ounds Invitational on Saturday. Events start at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
