The Peacocks will compete in their second meet of the season at the Bill Ward Invitational at Saint Anthony's High School.
Saint John's University will be hosting the meet.
Last Time at this Meet on December 9, 2014:
- Dexter Valley (West Orange, N.J./West Orange High School) opened up his indoor season with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a clocked time of 22.87 seconds. Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway High School) notched a time of 2:02.16 to earn a first-place finish in the 800-meter dash.
- In the 60-meter hurdles, Jamel Presley (Rochester, N.Y./Rahway High School) notched a first-place finish with a time of 8:23. Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.J./Baldwin) picked up where he left off a season ago in the weight throw, finishing in first with a toss of 17.54 meters.
- Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, N.Y./Farmingdale High School) opened up her season with first-place finishes in the high jump (1.60 meters) and triple jump (11.59 meters). Paige Vicari (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) placed first in the pole vault with a 2.60 meter performance.
- In his collegiate debut, Jermaine Lascellas (Bloomfield, Conn./Bloomfield) finished first in the high jump with a leap of 2.00 meters. Saint Peter's swept the top-3 spots in the event, with Wellington Brown (Union, N.J./Union High School) and Aondofa Anyam (Exton, Pa./Church Farm School) finishing in second and third respectively.
- Michael Marcano (Roselle, N.J./Roselle Catholic) notched a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a sprint of 7.14 seconds. Bobby MccLinton (Jersey City, N.Y./William Dickinson) and Gadimi Dorielan (Fords, N.J./Colonia) finished in second and third respectively in the 200-meter dash.
Last Season @ MAACs:
- Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, NY / Farmingdale) finished second overall in the women's triple jump event with a leap of 11.59-meters.
- Meredith Przybocki (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush) placed third in the women's high jump with a height of 1.65-meters.
- Hasaana Smith (Newark, N.J. / Malcolm X. Shabazz) and Cajou rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Peacocks in the event.
- Jermaine Lascelles (Bloomfield, Conn. / Bloomfield) finished tied for second in the men's high jump with a 1.99-meter performance.
- Aondofa Anyam (Exton, Pa. / Church Farm School) placed sixth overall in the men's triple jump with a 13.70-meter effort. Lascelles also finished fourth in the men's 400-meter event.
- Lance Weaver (Piscataway, NJ / Piscataway) finished fourth in the 800-meter event, clocking a time of 1:53.97. Jose Mercado (Paterson, N.J. / Passaic County Tech) placed seventh overall in the men's javelin throw with a toss of 51.41-meters.
About the Coach:
- Mike Massone enters his ninth season as the head coach of the men's and women's track & field programs in 2015-16. After serving as head coach of the cross country team for many years, Massone now serves as the director of cross country operations.
- The 2011-12 season saw the Women's team sweep the indoor and outdoor championships, to become just the second MAAC team to ever repeat as both Indoor and outdoor champions after capturing the two titles in 2010-11 as well. The men finished in third place and had six individual champions in both the Indoor and outdoor seasons.
- Massone was named the MAAC Women's Coach of the Year award for each season, and has now won five such awards: four on the women's side and one on the Men's side
Keeping it in the Family:
- Sylvester Inda begins his first season as the cross country head coach and track and field assistant coach in 2015-16.
- Inda, a 2011 graduate of Saint Peter's, was a four-year letterwinner on the track and field team and a three-year member of the Peacocks cross country team. He arrived in Jersey City as a sprinter before transitioning to the 800-meter run where he posted a personal-best time 1:55.48.
- Shona Potrzuski begins her first season as an assistant track and field coach in 2015-16.
- Potrzuski, a 2013 graduate of Saint Peter's, was a four-year member of the cross country and track and field teams. Named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Track Performer in 2012, she won the 400-meter run at the MAAC Championships in 2010 and 2011 and the 400-meter hurdles in 2011 and 2012 during the outdoor season. She also won the 800-meter run during the 2012 indoor championships. Potrzuski qualified for the 2011 NCAA Track And Field Outdoor Regional and anchored the 4x400 relay team at the Milrose Games in 2012. She wrapped up her career by being named the Saint Peter's Female Athlete of the Year at the annual student-athlete award dinner in 2013.
- A January 2011 graduate of Saint Peter's, Mike Sacca enters his fifth season as an assistant for the cross country team, and second season with the track & field squads.
- Sacca was a four year member of both the cross country and track and field teams, and will assume responsibility in the areas of middle and long distance. As a Peacock, he was a three year member of the MAAC All-Academic team, and also scored in several MAAC championships.
- J. Mark Korey joined head coach Michael Massone coaching staff in 2014-15. Korey is a 1971 graduate of Saint Peter's and was a four year member of the cross-country, indoor and outdoor track teams under then Coach Bob Short.
