opening stretch… The Saint Peter's track and field team is set to compete in this year's MAAC Indoor Championships.
last time out… Saint Peter's lasted competed in Metropolitan Championships on Feb. 6.
- Lance Weaver notched a third-place finish in the 800-meter run.
- Michael Marcano placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.86 seconds.
- Gadimi Dorielan and Dexter Valley notched top-10 finishes in the 200-meter run.
- In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Izaiah McEwan finished third with a time of 8.37.
- Meredith Przybocki notched a top-5 finish in the women's high jump, recording a leap of 1.60-meters.
- Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, N.Y. / Farmingdale) and Milagros Robinson (Riverside, N.J. / Riverside) finished third and fourth respectively in the women's triple jump.
last year's championship… Both the men and women's teams finished fifth overall in the standings of last year's MAAC Indoor Championships.
- Isaiah Harris was named Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events, sweeping the jumping events (triple jump, high jump, long jump).
- Jamel Presley notched a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with his run of 7.97-seconds.
- Ieshawn Johnson placed fourth in the weight throw with his throw of 17.23-meters.
- In the women's triple jump, Jennifer Cajou placed second with a jump of 11.73-meters.
- Essence Rogers placed fourth in the women's 60-meter hurdles with her time of 7.92-seconds.
- Dexter Valley placed seventh in the 400-meter dash, registering a time of 49.91-seconds.
ECAC/IC4A qualifiers… Five members of the team have earned ECAC/IC4A qualifying marks so far this season.

maac honors… Nkeka Pinheiro and Alexandra Moffatt earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) indoor track and field honors for the week of Dec. 9-15.
- Pinheiro was named MAAC Women's Track Performer of the Week for her efforts at the Brother Jasper Invitational on Dec. 13. Pinheiro earned first-place honors in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 25.04. She also notched a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash, recording a time of 7.84 seconds.
- Moffatt earned MAAC Women's Field Performer of the Week for her record-breaking performance at the 6th Annual MAC Classic on Dec. 14. The sophomore broke a Saint Peter's record with her 3.60-meter (11' 9.75") effort in the pole vault. The record was previously held by Mary Krug, who vaulted 3.25 meters (10'8") in 2010.
ecac honors… Nneka Pinheiro and Jermaine Lascelles earned Corvias Division I Metro/Upstate ECAC Player of the Week honors for the week of Dec. 9-14.
- Pinheiro earned first-place honors in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 25.04. She also notched a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash, recording a time of 7.84 seconds.
- Lascelles was tabbed ECAC Rookie of the Week for his performances at the Brother Jasper Invitational and the 6th Annual MAC Classic. Lascelles earned ECAC/IC4A qualifying marks in the high jump with a leap of 2.04-meters (6' 8.25"). He earned his second qualifying mark in the 500-meter dash.
preseason poll (men)… Monmouth was tabbed preseason favorites to repeat, earning a total of 46 points and receiving five-of-seven coaches' first place votes. Coming in second is Manhattan, totaling 41 points from the coaches. Iona and Rider finished tied for third with 32 points. Saint Peter's finished fifth in the poll with 24 points, followed by Canisius (12) and Marist (9) to round out the seven-team poll.
preseason poll (women)… Monmouth was selected to repeat, totaling 63 points and earning eight-of-nine coaches' first place votes. Rider (49), Manhattan (48) and Saint Peter's (37) round out the top-4 teams, followed by Iona (34), Quinnipiac (31), Marist (17) and Canisius (9).
about the coach… Head coach Mike Massone is in his eighth season as the men and women's track and field head coach.
