opening pitch… The Saint Peter's softball team will make its 2015 Jaroshak Field debut this weekend with a pair of league doubleheaders against Quinnipiac and Siena.

schedule switch... After originally being scheduled at Quinnipiac, the site of Saturday's game was moved to Saint Peter's due to field conditions.

about the bobcats… Quinnipiac comes into Saturday's contest 4-18 overall this season. Nikki Barba paces the Bobcats in batting average (.424), hits (11), runs (25) and walks (10) and second on the team in RBIs with nine. Hannah Lindsley leads the team in homeruns (4) and RBIs.vSydney Robey has appeared in 15 games on the mound including eight starts.

about the saints… Siena comes into Sunday's twinbill 3-11 overall. The Saints are have won their last three games after sweeping Norfolk State on Mar. 21-22. Paige Lloyd paces Siena in batting average (.439), hits (18), doubles (5), homeruns (3) and RBIs (11). Stephanie Viggiano has tallied 16 hits, seven runs and seven RBIs. Pitcher Lauren Butts has struck out 29 batters in 20 innings pitched this season.       

next on tap… Saint Peter's resumes non-conference action on Apr. 1 with a doubleheader at Wagner.  

last time out… The Peacocks were last in action on Mar. 25, dropping a 10-2 decision at Saint Joseph's. Nicole Feoli paced the Peacocks (1-12) with two hits and one run scored. Nicole Olmedo and Samantha Storms each picked up a RBI in the loss. The second game was cancelled due to rain. 

swipper, keep swiping… Stacey Klempel is a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.

feorenzo got her groove back…  Pitcher Tori Feorenzo led the Peacocks to a 3-1 victory over Hampton on Mar. 14. It is Feorenzo's first win since Mar. 16, 2012 against Houston Baptist.

preseason poll… Marist was picked as the preseason favorite, receiving 113 total points, including five first place votes. Iona is tabbed to finish second with 108 points and four first place votes. Monmouth was selected third with 86 points, followed by Manhattan (82), Siena (80), Fairfield (79), Quinnipiac (49), Canisius (48), Niagara (34), Rider (28) and Saint Peter's (19) to round out the 11-team poll.

new to the flock… Junior Stacey Klempel and freshmen Nicole Feoli, Skyler Hoyt, Kirsten Kelley, Shamar Sanchez and Jillian Silvanic have joined the 2015 squad.

about the coach… Ken Passante returns for his second season as head coach. John Burton also returns for his second season as assistant coach.
