GRASONVILLE, Md. – Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) finished sixth to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to an 11th-place standing at the Whiting-Turning Towson Invitational on Sunday.
After shoot a six-over par round of 77 in the first day, Grubbs posted a one-over par round in the final round of 72 to finish in sixth place with a score of 149, six strokes behind the medalist.
Dominic Diaz (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) (62nd place, 162), Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (75th place, 164), Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) (80th place, 165) and Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (90th place, 167) rounded out the Peacocks five competitors.
Arkansas won the two-round, two-day event with a score of 589, 16 strokes ahead of William & Mary (605) while Seton Hall (613), Robert Morris (614) and Hofstra (622) rounded out the Top-5 teams. Saint Peter's shot a 324 in the first round and a 316 in the final round for a total of 640. The Peacocks posted the best score of the three league teams in the competition.
Saint Peter's returns to action at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette at the Silver Creek Country Club in Hellertown, Pa., on Apr. 4.
