NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. – Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) and Dominic Diaz (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) each shot an even-par final round to help the Saint Peter's men's golf team move up into third place at the Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational on Sunday.

Coming into the final round ranked eighth with a score of 312, the Peacocks posted the third-best round of the day and the tournament with a five-over par score of 293 to jump into third place. Dilio and Diaz each helped pave the way with even-par rounds of 72. Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) shot a two-over par round of 74 while Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) posted the fourth score in the 70's with a three-over par round of 75.

Dilio and Grubbs finished tied for ninth with a score of 150, 12 strokes behind the medalist who finished the two-day event six strokes under par. Dilio posted a 78 in the first round and then the even-par round of 72 in the final round while Grubbs carded a 76 on Saturday and a 74 on Sunday.

Diaz (25th place, 155), Edmunds (33rd place, 156) and Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (43rd place, 158) rounded out Saint Peter's five competitors in the event.

Hartford won the two-round, two-day event with a score of 587, 13 strokes ahead of the host Connecticut (600) while the Peacocks (605), Rhode Island (610) and LIU- Brooklyn (611) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the 16-team field.

Saint Peter's was won of four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schools in the event and the Peacocks beat the three other league teams by at least 28 strokes in the tournament.

With two tuneups left before Saint Peter's attempts to defend its MAAC title, the Peacocks are 9-0 against league teams in the last three tournaments.

The tournament is named in honor of the Til Duty Is Done organization, a non-profit company based in Connecticut, with the goal of providing safe, secure and stable housing for returning veterans while they participate in skilled labor training programs and then aid in finding employment. Til Duty Is Done's aim is to reduce homelessness and unemployment among veterans and help with reintegration. Many of the volunteers helping to run the tournament will be military veterans and members of the Til Duty Is Done organization will be on hand.

Saint Peter's returns to action when the squad hosts its annual Peacock Invitational on Tuesday at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, N.J.
