JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Quinnipiac defeated Saint Peter's 6-1 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men's tennis matchup on Friday.
The Bobcats opened up winning all three doubles contests. The tandem of Jonas Kuwert and Luke Roser defeated Carlos Carrera (Quito, Ecuador / APCH) and Daniil Ivanov (Rostov-On-Don, Russia / [UMKC]) 8-2. Quinnipiac won No. 2 doubles 8-4 and won the third doubles contest by default.
In singles play, Kuwert defeated Carrera in three sets, 7-5, 2-6, 7-5. Ivanov earned the lone point for the Peacocks with a 7-5, 6-3 decision over Eric Ambrosio. In No. 3 singles, Julian Rozenstein defeated Jorge Rodriguez, 6-2, 6-4.
Roser won a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Oliver Bellomi (Nanaimo, Canada / Laurel Spring) in No. 4 singles. Jonathan Paredes (North Bergen, N.J. / North Bergen) was defeated by Kyle Alper in straight sets in No. 5 singles. Quinnipiac won the final singles contest by default.
Saint Peter's returns to action on Apr. 19 when they conclude the regular season with an hOURglass rivalry matchup at Monmouth. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
