Box Score PISTCATAWAY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's non-conference baseball game at Rutgers was halted in the top of the sixth inning on Wednesday due to rain, thunder and lightning arriving at Bainton Field. The game will resume when the Peacocks return to face the Scarlet Knights on May 5. The two teams will finish the halted contest and then play its originally scheduled contest. Start time is 1 p.m.
The game was halted with Rutgers leading 3-0. The Scarlet Knights scored two runs in the first inning on an RBI ground out by Kyle Walker and a run-scoring double by Chris Suseck. Rutgers added a run in the fourth on a Christian Campbell sacrifice fly.
The game will resume on May 5 with Rob Moore (Ridge, N.Y./Longwood) at the plate with no outs and Nick Ciocco (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill) on first after reaching on a base hit to start the sixth. Moore, Ciocco, Zach Rawson (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) and Nick Henriquez (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) each had a hit on the afternoon.
Saint Peter's returns to action this weekend with a three-game home series against the defending league tournament champion Siena Saints on Saturday and Sunday. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. First pitch for both days is 12 p.m.
