opening pitch… The Saint Peter's softball team close out the regular season this Sunday against Marist on Senior Day.

thank you seniors… Before the first game, Taylor Corretjer, Chelsea Crews, Fran D'Amato, Tori Feorenzo and Nicole Olmedo will be honored for their hard work and dedication to the program and Saint Peter's Athletics over the past four years.

about the red foxes… Marist comes into Sunday's doubleheader following its contest at Manhattan on Saturday. The Red Foxes are 24-26 overall and are 7-9 in league play. Marist picked up a series sweep at Lafayette on Apr. 28. Rebecca Freeman leads the team in batting average (.360) and hits (63). Samantha Reilly bats .281 and leads the team in homeruns (7) ad RBIs (36). Maureen Duddy has recorded 62 hits, 19 RBIs and 36 runs scored. She also leads the team in stolen bases (27).  

swipper, keep swiping… Stacey Klempel and Nicole Olmedo are a combined perfect 15-for-15 in stolen base attempts this season. 

finding their sweet spot… Saint Peter's scored 11 runs on Mar. 29 against Siena. It was the first time the Peacocks have scored in double-digits since May 7, 2011. 

feorenzo got her groove back…  Pitcher Tori Feorenzo led the Peacocks to a 3-1 victory over Hampton on Mar. 14. It is Feorenzo's first win since Mar. 16, 2012 against Houston Baptist.

preseason poll… Marist was picked as the preseason favorite, receiving 113 total points, including five first place votes. Iona is tabbed to finish second with 108 points and four first place votes. Monmouth was selected third with 86 points, followed by Manhattan (82), Siena (80), Fairfield (79), Quinnipiac (49), Canisius (48), Niagara (34), Rider (28) and Saint Peter's (19) to round out the 11-team poll.

new to the flock… Junior Stacey Klempel and freshmen Nicole Feoli, Skyler Hoyt, Kirsten Kelley, Shamar Sanchez and Jillian Silvanic have joined the 2015 squad.

about the coach… Ken Passante returns for his second season as head coach. John Burton also returns for his second season as assistant coach.
