Two-Time Defending MAAC Men's Golf Champion Saint Peter's Inks Two Players For 2015-16

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's men's golf head coach Peter Fallon has announced the signings of Michael Winter (Hamilton Square, N.J./Notre Dame HS) and JD Moore (Columbus, N.J./Hilton Head Prep [S.C.]) to National Letters of Intent. The duo will enroll at Saint Peter's in the fall of 2015.

"I am looking forward to welcoming these student-athletes to our program," said Falloon, "With three seniors graduating, we are looking for both Michael and JD to make an immediate impact on our program."

Winter is a three-time letterwinner and team captain at Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, N.J. He is the 2014 Philadelphia PGA Section Player of the Year. Winter was the Philadelphia PGA Section Junior Champion with a score of 71 and shot a 75 in the New Jersey High School non-public school sectional to earn medallist honors while also placing third at the Rutgers University Junior Open. He has competed in both regional and national events, the USGA Amateur Qualifier, the New Jersey High School Tournament of Championships and the USGA Junior Qualifier.

Moore graduated from Hilton Head Prep in Hilton Head, S.C. He has competed in many high profile events including AJGA Junior Open in South Carolina. Moore was the lead qualifier in the prestigious BI Tournament and earned medalist honors in the Bluffton Junior Shootout in South Carolina. He participated in the Golf Week Junior Invitational in Orlando and had a good showing at the Liberty National Junior Invitational, a national event held in Jersey City. Moore is one of several players from Hilton Head Prep going on to compete at the Division I level.

Saint Peter's is coming off its second-straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Golf Championship after leading the 2015 event wire-to-wire. The Peacocks then competed in their second NCAA Regional when it was placed in the New Haven Regional. Saint Peter's graduated Eric Edmunds (Skaneatles, N.Y./Skaneateles), Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) and Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) from the back-to-back MAAC championship teams. Falloon, a 1965 graduate of Saint Peter's, was named the MAAC Coach of the Year for the third time in the last four years.
