Top Moment: No. 11: Omar Crowl's Golden Goal In Overtime Win For Men's Soccer

JERSEY CITY, N.J.  – On Monday night Major League Baseball held its annual home run derby with an added twist of a timed clock. Throughout the night several players beat the buzzer to hit a homer almost like a walk-off hit. In soccer, it's the thrill of sudden death and the chance to win the game on a golden goal. Senior Omar Crowl got to feel that feeling of scoring a golden goal in the 96th minute against Marist to head in the No. 11 Moment in our Top-15 Moments Countdown.

With the help of Crowl, Saint Peter's defeated Marist 2-1 in overtime on Oct. 18 at Jaroschak Field.

After a corner kick on left side, the Peacocks were awarded a second corner kick serve on the far side of the field. Luke Fairlamb served the ball right to the feet of Crowl, who drilled the ball into the netting at the 95:56 mark to give Saint Peter's the one-goal victory.

Marcel Maddee' also found the twine for the Peacocks off an Ezequiel Cei helper while David Giddings earned the shutout in the winning effort.

Saint Peter's grabbed the lead early in the second half only to see Marist tie the game 20 minutes later and then the Peacocks won the game in the extra session to end a three-game losing streak against the Red Foxes.

Saint Peter's grabbed the one-goal lead when Cei had his shot graze off of the crossbar, but Maddee' was there for the rebound for his third goal of the season to give the Peacocks the lead at 49:12.

Marist tied the game 20 minutes later when Erik Dahl took a long ball and then beat both a Saint Peter's defender and the goalkeeper for an unassisted tally at 69:35.

The Peacocks had a couple of chances after the match was tied at 1, but could not convert. Cei missed high in the 73rd minute, Fairlamb had a shot saved in the 75th minute and Louis Mobbs' header went wide in the 89th minute to set up Crowl's heroics

The Red Foxes had the ball on their offensive end several times, but did not register a scoring opportunity after its game-tying tally.

Saint Peter's played to a one-goal difference in 12 of its 17 games this season, including three of its four victories. The Peacocks finished 4-14 on the year and 2-8 in league play. Fairlamb paced the team with six goals and four assists for 16 points while Maddee' ranked second on the team with three goals and one assist for seven points.
