opening jog… The Saint Peter's cross country team makes its 2015 debut at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial on Saturday. The women's 5K race will begin at 9:45 a.m. and the men's race will follow at 10:15 a.m.
last time at that event… In the men's five-mile run, Kevin Olaya paced the team with his 45th-place finish, recording a time of 30:15.98. Lance Weaver and Mohamed Merdan finished 60th and 61st respectively for the Peacocks. John Paul Herrera and Karl Desil rounded out the finishes for the men. Navy placed first overall, followed by Fordham, Fairfield, Manhattan, Rutgers, St. Francis Brooklyn, Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Peter's. Jackie Anderson paced the women's team in the 5000-meter run, finishing 54th with a time of 22:45.63. Georgie Nicholes placed 60th, notching a run of 23:41.31. Carolina Herrera, Selena Marshall and Victoria Lundin rounded out the Saint Peter's competitors in the event. Rutgers finished first overall on the women's side, followed by Fairfield. Fordham, Monmouth, Manhattan, St. Francis Brooklyn, Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Peter's to round out the standings.
starters take your mark… Saint Peter's returns to the races at the Rider Invitational on Sept. 19 at Rosedale Park in Pennington, N.J. This will be the first chance for the squad to preview the course for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships at the end of the year.
