RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Freshmen Jodi Collymore (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) and Quinn Geraghty (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) paced the Saint Peter's men's and women's cross country teams at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial on Saturday.
Collymore placed 20th to lead the Peacocks 5K race with a time of 32:54.62 while Geraghty paced the men's squad in the five-mile run with a time of 30:50.82. The duo made their collegiate debut in the race.
Georgie Nicholes (22nd place, 22:31.79), Jovanna Larose (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) (25th place, 23:04.90), Jackie Anderson (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) (26th place, 23:25.25), Selena Marshall (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) (30th place, 25:18.79) and Deborah Myrtil (Half Hollow Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills) (31st place, 26:07.68) also competed for the women in the 5K race.
Johannes Guerrero (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) (24th place, 32:43.78), Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) (25th place, 32:58.36), Marlowe Tooles (27th place, 33:39.71) and Kevin Olaya (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) (29th place, 35:23.40) rounded out the men's participants in the five-mile run.
Brown won the women's competition while Fordham, Saint Peter's and NJIT rounded out the field. Fordham won the men's race while Rutgers, NJIT and the Peacocks rounded out the field.
Along with Collymore and Geraherty, Larose and Tooles also made their collegiate debut on the day.
Saint Peter's returns to action at the Rider Invitational on Sept. 19 at Rosedale Park in Pennington, N.J. The event will be a preview of the course for the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships at the end of the season.
