READING, PA - Saint Peter's wrapped up the Bud Whitman Memorial Tournament placing 15th, out of the 19 teams competing with a total of 4041 points.
Lidia DeSapio paced the Peacocks placing 33rd with a team-best 206, a total of 916, and an average of 183.2 points in the individual standings.
Amanda Santos followed Desapio placing 42nd with a total of 875 and an average of 175 points per match. Freshman, Vicky Spirio totaled 779 points averaging, 155.8 points, Gabrielle Morales added a total of 575 with an average score of 143.75, Jasmine Hodges finished with a total of 438 and Nicole Wetzel added a total of 298.
Top finisher was Sara Kirch from Chestnut Hill with a total of 1087 and an average score of 217.4. Top team was Deleware state with a total score of 5130.
next up... Saint Peter's will head back into action on Oct. 22nd competing in the Hampton Roads Collegiate Bowling Invitational at the AMF Chesapeake Lanes in Chesapeake, VA.
about the coach… Jen Housward begins her third season at Saint Peter's as the women's bowling head coach. Houseward served as an assistant coach for the bowling program in 2013-14 after a successful four-year bowling career at Saint Peter's. Houseward, who graduated in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education, helped the Saint Peter's bowling squad to first-place standing at the Beach Open Tournament in North Carolina in 2009 and to the team's first winning season in program history with a 61-51 mark in her freshman campaign. She has helped Saint Peter's to a second-place finish at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Bowling Invitational in 2010 and the Peacocks reached its highest national ranking in team history after ranking 17th in the country in December of 2011.
