Golf Compete's in Lehigh Golf Invitational

JERSEY CITY, NJ - Saint Peter's Golf Team heads to Bethlehem, PA to compete in the Lehigh Golf Invitational Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club, Oct. 21- 22.

last time out… Saint Peter's placed fourth in the Monmouth Quad Match with a score of (313,313 +29). Sophomore, Mike Winter led Saint Peter's with a (74,74,+3) score tying in sixth with three other competitors from the Monmouth Quad Invitational.

match play… Competing schools include Bucknell, Fordham, Hofstra, Iona, Lafayette, Manhattan, Monmouth, Rider, Siena and St. John's. Hosting the event will be Lehigh University. Over the two days the teams will compete in a 36-stroke play on 7,0961 yard course.

"We have had a bit of an up and down fall season so far," said head coach Nick Dilio. "So we are looking to finish the season out strong and bring that momentum into the offseason, and keep getting better."

Tee off will begin at 9:30 am at hole #1 and #10. Saint Peters will start on hole #10 along with Siena and Fordham.

about the Team The Saint Peter's Men's Golf team hold two reigning MAAC golf Championships in 2014 and 2015 under the direction of Peter Falloon. The team boast a young team with four freshman, two sophomores, and one senior. Captain for the Peacocks, is senior Dominic Diaz.

about the coach… Head Coach Nick Dilio is a three-time NCAA qualifier, claiming the 2016 MAAC individual title. In the process of his collegiate career, he participated in the NCAA Regional action three consecutive years. As a junior he was a MAAC Runner-up and registered four top-15-and three-top-10 showings at the MAAC Championships. Dilio also made an appearance in the Porter Cup which is one of the top amature tournaments in the world. In previous years the Porter Cup hosted golf legends Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, David Duval, Ben Crenshaw, and Hal Sutton.

Director for the Men's Golf team is previous head coach, Peter Falloon. During his time as the head coach, he led the Peacocks to two consecutive MAAC Championships in 2014 and 2015. Falloon led Saint Peters in the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional in 2014 and the NCAA New Haven Regional in 2015. Three out of four years Falloon was named MAAC Coach of the year. Fallon is a member of the Saint Peter's Athletic Hall of Fame.
