Saint Peter's Softball Drops Two Games At Amy S. Harrison Classic

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Saint Peter's softball team lost a pair of game at the Amy S. Harrison Classic on Saturday. The Peacocks lost 11-0 in five innings to San Diego and then lost 11-1 against host UC Riverside in five innings.

Jackie Riley (South Amboy, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) notched Saint Peter's (0-3) lone hit and run scored on the afternoon when she scored on Kirsten Kelley's (Seaford, N.Y./General Douglas McArthur) sacrifice fly in the second inning against UC Riverside.

The Peacocks grabbed a 1-0 lead against the Highlanders in the nightcap after Riley singled to center, moved to second when Stacey Klempel (Winter Garden, Fla./Ococee) walked and to third on a wild pitch. With one out, Kelley brought home Riley on a sacrifice fly to center for a 1-0 lead.

UC Riverside scored 11 times in the third to go on for the 11-1 win. Natalie Sanchez tied the game with an RBI single to left center before Stephanie Tickemyer hit a three-run double for a 4-1 margin. Haley Harris smacked a grand slam, another run touched home on an error and Erika Campbell doubled home two runs to complete the 11-run inning.

Crystal Carlucci (Iselin, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial) took the loss in the game against the Highlanders.

Saint Peter's opened the second day of the Amy S. Harrison Classic with an 11-0 loss to San Diego. The Toredos scored three times in the first, five times in the second and three times in the fourth to earn its second win against the Jersey City program.

Kailey Hill got the scoring with a solo homer in the first before Olivia Sandusky doubled home a run and Gaby Grabowski hit an RBI single for a 3-0 lead after the first inning.

Tatum Schultz singled home a run on a single to right field and Lauren Kane smacked a three-run homer to left center before Sandusky hit a solo shot to right field to increase the margin to 8-0 after two innings.

Kane, Danielle Mavrdis and Jenna Kumabe each had run-scoring singles in the fourth to cap the victory.

Nicole Feoli (Burlington, Township, N.J./Burlington) walked in the fourth for the Peacocks only runner in the game. Riley took the loss in the opener.

Harley Connors (Mason, Ohio/William Mason) made her collegiate debut against San Diego.

Saint Peter's concludes the Amy S. Harrison Classic against North Dakota on Sunday. Game time is 12 p.m. EST.
