STATEN ISLAND, NY - Mike Marcano (Roselle, NJ / Roselle Catholic) paced the St. Peter's men's track and field team in the 60m dash with a time of 6.94 seconds, placing second in the finals heat at the Metropolitan Championship. Nkosi Pile (Atlanta, Ga. / The Church Farm) ran 7.19 seconds and Shaka Shomari (Hempstead, N.Y. / Holy Trinity High School) recorded a time of 7.47, placing sixth and eighth, respectively. Shomari also tallied three points for the men's team by placing sixth overall in the 200m dash with a time of 22.42.
Ken Brosier (Willingboro, N.J. / Burlington County Institute of Tech.) broke the St. Peter's men's 400m record with a time of 47.99, placing second overall. The previous record was 48 flat.
The men's 4x4 team put up a time of 3:22.81, placing third overall while the 4x8 team ran 8:42.72 placing sixth.
Aondofa Anyam (Exton, Pa. / Church Farm School) paced the men in the jumps, clearing 1.89m in high jump and jumping 13.09m in triple jump. Wellington Brown (Union, NJ / Union High School) jumped 6.46m in the men's long jump while Kurt Espiritu (Kearny, N.J. / Saint Peter's Prep) threw 12.49m in men's shot put.
The women's 4x4 team ran 4:14.66, placing eighth overall. Hasanna Smith (Newark, NJ / Malcolm X. Shabazz) and Britany Maragh (Nanuet, N.Y. / Nanuet Senior) both cleared 1.60m in the women's high jump, placing third and fourth. Alexandra Moffatt (Smithville, Texas / Smithville) placed second overall in pole vault, clearing a height of 3.45m. Adia Ledbetter (Linden, N.J. / Roselle Catholic) and Aicha Elola (Jersey City, N.J. / Lincoln) placed fifth and sixth in the women's shot put, throwing 12.16m and 11.68m respectively. Shanell Garner (Cocoa Beach, FL / Cocoa Beach) threw 14.91m in the women's weight throw, placing sixth overall.
The Peacocks will return to Staten Island on February 27 for the Fastrack Last Chance Meet at 4pm.
