Randy Holmes and Juanita Michelle Foreman Named 2016 MAAC Honor Roll Inductees

EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced Saint Peter's University's honorees to be inducted in the MAAC Honor Roll. The honorees will be enshrined in "The MAAC Experience" exhibit at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on October 15.

Each member institution of the MAAC honors one male and one female from its basketball "family" as part of the 2016 induction class. A dinner event will be on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Court of Dreams to recognize the Honor Roll inductees.

Each honoree will be profiled in the game program for the 2017 MAAC Basketball Championships, and will also be featured in a video display at "The MAAC Experience."

Randy Holmes (1992-1996) Saint Peter's University

Randy Holmes finished his career at Saint Peter's with 1,022 points in three seasons. Holmes holds the school record with 35 consecutive made free throws, and tied the season record with a .853 free throw percentage in 1994-95. He was named the 1995 MAAC Tournament MVP after scoring 24 points in the championship game win over Manhattan, en route to leading Saint Peter's to its second NCAA Tournament berth. In that same season, Holmes was named second team All-MAAC after averaging 15 points per game. The next year, he averaged 14 points per game; including scoring 27 points in a win vs. SEC power Alabama in the Cessna Classic at Wichita State. Holmes led the Peacocks to the classic championship and earned MVP honors. He was inducted into the Saint Peter's Hall of Fame in 2002 and his 1994-95 MAAC Championship team was inducted in 2014. Holmes currently reside in Lakewood NJ, where he has lived his entire life, with his wife Erica Holmes and three children; Zoē , Randy Jr., and Jazzmin. He is employed by the Lakewood Board of Education, where he works as a special education math teacher, in School Intervention Teacher, and Varsity Basketball Head Coach.

Juanita Michelle Foreman (1985-1989) Saint Peter's University

Juanita Michelle Foreman was a two-time selection to the second team All-MAAC and ended her career with 1,439 points and was the third all-time leading scorer when she graduated. She grabbed 338 career rebounds, dished out 246 assists, and had 154 steals in her four-year career in Jersey City. In her freshman season, she earned MAAC All-Rookie honors. As a sophomore, Foreman scored 390 points, which ranked 10th in the MAAC and set a then Saint Peter's record with her .804 free throw percentage. In her junior year, she had the best scoring output of her career when she led her team and ranked 5th in the MAAC in scoring with her 15.8 points per game average and 457 total points en route to her first second team All-MAAC selection. Foreman scored her career-best 28 points against Seton Hall that season in a game where she set a Saint Peter's record going 12-for-12 from the free throw line. She closed out her career in 88-89 scoring 397 points and earning her second consecutive All-MAAC second team honor. Foreman is a member of the 1995 Saint Peter's Hall of Fame class. She currently resides in her home state of Maryland and has served on the police force for the past 26 years.
