Box Score BRONX, NY - Fordham was triumphed over Saint Peter's with a sweep win, 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-19), Wednesday in the Rose Hill Gymnasium.
Amanda Colombo and Marlena Budna led Saint Peter's with 4 kills each. Carolina Ruiz and Colombo posted 8 digs apiece and Kaitlyn Sitton recorded 10 assists to lead the Peacocks.
Fordham's Olivia Laporta and Olivia Fairchild had 11 kills each, Morley Kaitlin and Grace followed with 7 kills, and Setter, Maddy Walsh, posted 37 assists.
In the first set, Fordham set the tone with two 5-point runs after the mid mark score 12-10, putting Saint Peters down two points. The Rams allowed Saint Peter's two more points as they finished the set, 25-12.
In the second frame, the Peacocks fell behind as Fordham kept a significant lead all the way through the set. The Peacocks were unable to catch up as the Rams walked their way to finish the set 25-11.
Saint Peter's got off to a good start in the third set and rallied to tie early 5-5. Fordham held their ground as Kaitlin Morley posted two kills to start the Rams pull away from Saint Peter's. The Peacocks plugged away until a late set kill by Marlena Budna and two attack errors by Fordham made the score 18-21. However, Fordham was able to finish the set on a 4-to-1 run to complete the sweep winning the set 25-19.
The Peacocks will host conference teams, Fairfield on Saturday, Sep. 17 at 12pm and Quinnipiac, Sunday, Sep.18 at 1pm.
