JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Saint Peter's men's and women's swimming and diving teams concluded their 2017 home schedule against Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon. Both squads were defeated by Bridgeport, with the men's team falling, 87-36, and the women's team dropped the meet, 100-17.
"The team finished up the 2017 home meet schedule today against a tough competitor in Bridgeport," said head coach Mark Kretzer. "The team knew it would be tough competition but it gave them a look into where we need to be as a team at the MAAC championships coming up as well as a motivation to where we want our program to go in the years to come. Now we can get down to business these next few weeks and work on fine-tuning for the MAACs in early February."
The women's team has their final meet on next Friday, February 3 at LIU Brooklyn. The meet begins at 2p.m.
Both squads will then head to Buffalo, NY for the 2017 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Burt Flickenger Center at Erie Community College, February 8-11.
