BUFFALO, NY – The Saint Peter's men's swimming and diving team had a solid showing on day one of the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) LifeStorage Swimming & Diving Championships in Buffalo, NY at the Burt Flickenger Center at Erie Community College. The men's squad finished day one in seventh place with a score of 58 points.
In the 800-free relay, the quartet of Thomas Calloni (Milan, Italy/Saint Peter's Prep), Nicholas Riepe (Middlesex, NJ/Saint Joseph), Daniel Gayetsky (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), and Daniel Betts (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) just missed the podium as the unit finished in fourth place with a finishing time of 6:52.65.
The 200-medley relay team of Michael Spark (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen), Igal Oren (Jersey City, NJ/Ort Kiryar Bialik), Chad Williams (Millersville, MD/Archbishop Spalding), and Eliran Epstein (Nahariya, Israel/Wester Galilee Regional) finished in fifth place, posting a time of 1:32.48.
Action continues tomorrow morning at 10a.m with prelims and day two finals start at 6p.m.
