Fairleigh Dickinson Swept Men's Tennis in a Home Match on Thursday

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University men's tennis team fell to Fairleigh Dickinson University, 7-0, in a match that was moved to the Yanitelli Recreational Life Center Bubble due to inclement weather. The Knights improve their record to 5-9 overall with the win while the Peacocks fall to 1-15 on the year; this is their 12th straight loss.

 

Results - The Peacocks lost the doubles tandem point. No. 1 doubles, Andres-Sebastian Rojas and Ivan Knezevic, and No. 3 doubles, Douglas Nover and Jonathan Paredes, fell by identical set scores of 6-2 to the respective Knights teams of No. 1, Adam Chan and Danilo Vukotic, and No. 3, Miki Nobuzawa and Gonzalo Quintana, 6-0. Gabriel Russotto and Cuong Lam was defeated by Diogo Garnel and Pedro Carvalho. Saint Peter's fought hard in the singles portion. No. 1, Knezevic, lost a tight first set in the match against Gonzalo Quintana, 7-6(4), 6-1. Rojas was defeated by Carvalho, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2 singles. Nover lost a tough two setter, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 3 to Chan. Russotto fell 6-2, 6-3 to Vukotic at the No. 4 spot. At No. 5, Paredes lost Garnel by identical set scores of 6-1, 6-1. Lam finished out the lowest spot against Sam Koster and fell 6-2, 6-0.

 

Up Next - The Saint Peter's University men's tennis team has to regroup in the one practice they have on Friday before returning to the Yanitelli Recreational Life Center Bubble for an early, 9:00am, match against the University of Delaware on Saturday, April 8.
