Men's Tennis Drops Saturday's Match to Delaware

WESTFIELD, NJ - For the second consecutive day, Saint Peter's men's tennis team fell 6-1, falling to Delaware today. The team's overall record drops to 2-12. 
 
Doubles Results - The Peacocks lost the doubles tandem point, 2-1, with all of the score lines the same, 6-4. Piotr Sowinski and Ivan Knezevic defeated Blaise Casselbury and Colin Wong at No. 1. John Oxner and Hector Andres Jacome fell to Curran Verma and Justice Jones at No. 2. For the second consecutive day with a different partner, Sebastian Ferrer, lost with Ignacio Tintore at No. 3 against Laurenz Lankes and Nathan Benyowitz. 
 
Singles Results - Knezevic went undefeated on the day as he won at No. 5 against Jones, 4-6, 6-3, [11]-[9]. Jacome was defeated by Verma, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1. Sowinski suffered a setback to Dustin Britton at No. 2, 6-2, 6-1. Oxner lost to Wong at No. 3, 6-3, 6-4. Tintore was on the losing end at No. 4 against Casselbury, 6-3, 6-2. Sebastian Ferrer fell to Lankes, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 6. 
 
Up Next - The Saint Peter's men's tennis team, along with the women's tennis team, will host Sacred Heart in West Haven, CT at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on the campus of Yale University on Sunday, March 18. First serve is set for 12 noon.
