Softball Falls to Morgan State

Box Score

BALTIMORE, MD - The Saint Peter's University softball team dropped to Morgan State 8-1 on the last day of the Coppin St. Eagles Classic. The Peacock's overall record moves to 1-4.

"It was a rough game, we suffered two heartbreakers in the last two days and I think it took its toll," said head coach Chris Stelma. "The girls played hard for 5 innings and then it didn't go our way. We had a good trip with a lot of positives and good things to build on."

Saint Peter's started Barbara Verrastro on the mound, and she went for 4.1 innings.

Saint Peter's got on the board in the top of the sixth when Brianna Hutchinson walked to get on first base, advancing Michelle Kugelmann to second base and allowing Shamar Sanchez to score. The Peacocks were unable to start a rally and Morgan State held on to win 8-1.
