TEANECK, NJ - The Saint Peter's men's tennis team fell 5-2 to the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on Friday. John Oxner went a perfect 2-0 for the Peacocks in the defeat.
Doubles Results - FDU won the tandem point by picking up wins in No. 1 and No. 3. Oxner and and Hector Andres Jacome defeated Moric Budinszky and Miki Nobuzawa, 7-6, at No. 2 for the Peacocks lone doubles win. Piotr Sowinski and Ignacio Tintore dropped No. 1 to Niclas Pietschand Andris Gudins, 6-4. Igor Khvorostian and Sebastian Ferrer fell at No. 3 to Maciej Autuch and William Bourne, 6-0.
Singles Results - At No. 3, Oxner proved to be the only win on the day for Saint Peter's as he knocked off Autuch, 6-4, 6-1. Jacome gave up No. 1, 6-1, 7-6 (3) to Pietsch. In No. 2 singles, Gudins of FDU defeated Sowinski of Saint Peter's, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Tintore lost to Budinszky, 6-3, 7-5, at the No. 4 slot. Ferrer dropped No. 5 to Nobuzawa, 6-0, 6-1. The Peacocks won No. 6 singles by default.
