How It Happened
- Senior captain David Powers led the charge for the Peacocks with a three-over 73. He got off to a fast start with two birdies on the front 9 and battled to stay inside the top-15 in the leader board by the end of the round.
- Senior captain Stanley Garrant and sophomore Melvin Morales were next on the ledger as both were five-over 75 for the day. Morales birdied once on the front nine, while Garrant did so twice during the second half of his day. Both placed in a tie for 26th in the tournament field.
- Redshirt freshman Jimmy Apostolico came out firing with four birdies in the first 10 holes he played and ultimately carded a four-over 76, which tied him for 37th on the leader board.
- Finally, junior Jeffrey Peters rounded out the SPU contingent with a seven-over 77; he birdied twice over the course of the afternoon, as well.
- The tournament was originally slated to be a two-day, three-round affair, but weather conditions wiped away the first two rounds that were scheduled for Sunday (Oct. 27).
