Baseball Sets Season-High in Stolen Bases against Wagner on Tuesday

The Peacocks lost to the Seahawks 17-6

JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Peacocks baseball team fell in non-conference play to Wagner on Tuesday. Saint Peter's was defeated 17-6 in the game.
 
Game Notes
  • Wagner used a leadoff home run to jump out to an early lead over Saint Peter's.
  • Through the first three innings, the Peacocks fell behind 9-0.
  • In the home half of the fourth, Edwin Feliciano drew a walk, stole second, and advanced to third on a passed ball, before Hunter Mason hit an RBI double to put the Peacocks on the scoreboard.
  • Wagner would go on to add two more runs in the fifth and extend Saint Peter's deficit to 11-1.
  • The Peacocks most productive inning came in the sixth when the unit produced four runs on four hits.
  • Feliciano got the inning going with a leadoff single to left field.
  • After an out, Peter Ferony doubled to right field advancing Feliciano to third.
  • Jared Paladino would then single to right field, driving in Feliciano for the second run of the game.
  • A Jared Quintero walk on the next at bat loaded the bases for the Peacocks.
  • Following a pitching change, Andrew Connor reached on a fielder's choice which allowed Ferony to score from third.
  • With runners on the corners, Saint Peter's successfully executed a double steal with Connor safely stealing second and Paladino safely sliding into home.
  • Chris Marquart would bat in the final run of the inning by way of a single to right field that would score Connor from second and put the Peacocks behind 11-5.
  • Wager posted five more runs in the seventh to go up 16-5.
  • Saint Peter's would add one more run in the seventh with Paladino hitting a sacrifice fly to center field to allow Feliciano to tag up from third and score.
  • Wagner scored one final run in the eighth to win 17-6.
 
Inside the Numbers
  • Feliciano scored a team-leading three runs while going 2-for-3 from the plate and drawing two walks.
  • Paladino led the team with two RBIs and a run scored.
  • Connor recorded a run and an RBI.
  • Mason and Marquart added the other two RBIs.
  • Ferony scored the final Peacock run in the game.
  • Nicholas Sciubba also went 2-for-3 in the game to lead the Peacocks at the plate.
  • As a team, the Peacocks combined to steal a season-best five bases in the game.
  • The last time a Peacock team stole five bases was on April 2, 2016 against Niagara.

  • Following three straight MAAC series at home, the Peacocks will hit the road this weekend for a series at Canisius.
  • The teams will meet on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday in a twin bill starting at noon.
