Softball Falls to Siena in Season Finale

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's softball team honored their five seniors, Schieler Collins, Harley Connors, Tiffani Lambert, Sydney Ramsey and Barbara Verrastro, in Monday's final game of the season. The Peacocks lost the first game 9-1 (5 innings) and the second game 4-0 (8 innings). 
 
Game Notes vs. Siena:
Game 1:

• Both teams went scoreless in the first inning. 
• In the second inning, Alina Guevara hit an RBI fly out to centerfield bringing in the game's first run to take the lead 1-0. 
• In the fourth inning, Siena scored six runs to take the lead 6-1.
• In the final inning, the Saints added three more runs to win the game 9-1.
• Barbara Verrastro earned the only hit for the Peacocks.
• Sydney Ramsey pitched for 3.2 innings picking up two strikeouts.

Game 2:

• The second game was a pitcher's duel for both the Peacocks and the Saints through the first five innings. 
• The first hit of the game came for the Peacocks in the sixth inning when Alyssa Mido singled to center field. 
• Saint Peter's followed it up with another hit in the seventh inning by Harley Connors. 
• Peacock starting pitcher Sydney Senerchia, kept Siena hitless through regulation.
• In the eighth inning, Siena scored four runs to take the win 4-0 in the extra inning.
• In the bottom half of the extra inning, the Peacocks couldn't respond get anything going and the team dropped the contest 4-0.
• Connors and Mido had the lone hits for Saint Peter's. 
• Senerchia pitched all eight innings and struck out seven batters.
